A Day at the Zoo

Today, Ken and I had a lovely time at the Nashville zoo. Ken was kind enough to let me use his camera and learn a thing or two about photography. Apparently, Nashville Channel 5 News decided we were cute enough to report on.....us and a story about tigers :)

here is a link to the news story with a cute lil picture of us.

Making Cookies

Jace and I made cookies together Sunday night. He had heard that the number one Christmas memory was making cookies so he found a recipe on the internet and had grandma buy the ingredients. The cookie dough had cottage cheese in it. There was no sugar in the dough so you really didn't want to lick the bowl. The cookies had a pineapple filling. It was pineapple mixed with cornstarch and cooked. Well, it wouldn't thicken so I kept putting cornstarch in it. I told Jace that I didn't know why it wouldn't thicken. He looked at the package and I had been putting powdered sugar in it instead of cornstarch. We still used it. I bet those cookies were sweet. I took some to school and they were gone by lunch time. I didn't see any in the trash. Jace took some to Cemex too.

Greater Tuna Christmas Party

Saturday night after a day in my college classroom our school had our Christmas party. It was also the Electric Light Parade. We all stood in front of Mountain Annie's and watched the parade. I heard that there were 80 entries in the parade. After the parade we went inside Mountain Annie's and had supper. We had chicken, roast, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, and chocolate cake. Then the play began. It was pretty bad. There were two actors who dressed up as all the characters. At intermission half of the audience left. We stayed of course and really had the best time at the end.

Nashville Thanksgiving

Jace and I had a great Thanksgiving in Nashville. Jennifer fixed a great Thanksgiving meal. After the meal we all napped except Jennifer. then we all went to the Opryland Hotel to see the Grinch carved in ice. It was the whole story carved in ice. The room was so cold. We had to wear these funky blue parkas over our own coats!

SE7EN years of Bliss

For our anniversary Jen surprised me with tickets to see the Titans play the Jaguars today. This single act proves what a great choice I made for my bride. I told her 'if you ever leave me, I'm going with you'.

Other than the Titans stinkin' to high heaven, we had a great day. We saw an awesome flyby and had 2 skydivers drop in to the middle of the field. Jen started figuring out how to watch what the QB was doing with the ball, and we even bumped into some friends from work.

Side Note: If you have ever attended an event of some sort with a Neal, you'll come to learn that Neals love nachos. I have noticed this with both Jen and Brian. If there are refreshments to be sold and nachos are among the choices, their nacho radar kicks in and you know they're going to get a read on that fake cheese.

Here are some pics from our adventure....love ya snuggle-muffins!

The Hunchback of Notre Dame

Friday night Jace and I went to the Spencer Theater to see the Hunchback of Norte Dame. I thought that it was going to be a play but they showed the old silent movie starring Lon Chaney. They did have a band and some dancers that sang. They sang and danced with the movie. Their songs and dances went along with the movie. At first I was mad but I ended up enjoying it. Then Sunday we ate lunch at Mountain Annie's. There was going to be a gospel sing and the Gateway singers were going to sing but Jace and I left because we needed our Sunday afternoon nap.

JUMPING!

We all know Vail likes to jump. Today she had the ultimate chance to do just that. We went to a place called pump it up with a few of the wives of some guys that work with Matthew. So much fun! Vail had a blast. At the end she was sliding by herself.

Missing Person!

DOES ANYONE RECOGNIZE THIS MAN? He has fallen asleep on our couch. We tried to wake him up and as you can see he just made himself more comfortable. If he belongs to you would you please come and get him. At least by next weekend. Thanks.

Thank you Papa and Jammie for Vail's sandbox. She absolutely loves it. Although I did not enjoy washing the sand out of her hair. As you can see she has already started dumping all the sand out of the box. :)

Ken came over today and took some photos of the girls for us. Here is a little teaser of them for you. We are going to pick out some we like (there are lots to choose from) and he is going to tweek them a bit. I am extremely happy with how they turned out.

Farewell Family

The trip has sadly come to a close. We dropped off Jen, Matty and the girls at 730 this morning. We were very sad to see them go. Here are a few images of the grand farewell. And yes, as we drove away tears were shed...

La Jolla

Today we went to the seashore in La Jolla (San Diego) where we discovered new marine life in the tide pools. After that we made it home for one more round of swimming then we enjoyed a steak dinner hot off the grill. It really was a perfect day
